Nuxalk has many so-called lexical suffixes. These are often used where English uses nouns.
One category of lexical suffixes is formed by the body suffixes which can be added to verbs and adjectives. ts’u grey can be extended with -aaxuts, for instance, ts’waaxuts means grey beard. T’kw bleeding, together with -lxs nose, becomes t’kwlxs having a bleeding nose.
